8/19/2009 AERIFICATOIN UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Aerification started off well despite getting a late start because of the outing. Then................we got HAMMERED! Hartefeld was hit by a severe storm around 7pm and another less severe storm around 8:15pm. We decided to hold off and return at 3:15am to begin again.
Today, to ensure completion before forecasted storms hit again, we are shutting the front nine down this morning until we are completed. When we move to the back the back nine will be closed for golf and the front will reopen.
As we were on rain delay last night, it was asked of me the tine size we are using for this operation. We are using smaller 3/8" tines on a quad block. As my blog says, smaller holes but more of them.
8/14/2009
Carts will be restricted to paths only until 11am. Blue Flags will be permitted during the restriction period.
8/13/2009
Early this morning we received over an inch of rain. The golf course is swamped! We will be restricting carts to paths only all day but will allow the use of blue flags.
8/9/2009
This morning we had some heavy rains pass through beginning at 5:15am. As of 6:45am we have received over .5 inches already. At this point, we will be restricting carts to paths until at least 12 noon, allowing blue flags. If the rain continues we may need to lengthen our restriction.
Club Championship Update
We were able to complete course setup in the rain this morning. Cups were changed, tee markers were moved and we did our very best to rake the bunkers. We could not complete our greens mowing, they were just too soft.
8/1/2009
With the storms that passed through the club this afternoon, I made my way back down to the club to see what damage was done. The wind was minimal, I wish I could say the same for the rain. We received another 1.5 inches of rain. This puts our 7 day total at 6 inches! We will be working hard in the morning to get the bunkers back in shape, they are in bad shape. Unfortunately the greens are completely saturated and our maintenance goals for Saturday will need to be pushed to Sunday. We will be cutting the greens on Saturday but can't afford to roll.
Cart traffic will be restricted to paths only with blue flags being utilized. I will make a reevaluation in mid afternoon, but with 6 inches in 7 days I don't anticipate releasing carts until Sunday afternoon.
7/30/2009
We received again, over an inch of rain with the various storms that hit yesterday. The course in several areas was already saturated. Today we will be restricting carts to path only. Blue Flags will be permitted.

Today carts will be restricted to paths, but Blue Flags will be permitted. As long as we do not receive any showers today, we will be returning to 90 degree rule tomorrow.
6/21/2009
Due to the additional 1.5 inches of rain that fell yesterday to make our 5 day totaly 4" inches of rain. Carts will be restricted to paths only. We will allow the use of Blue Flags beginning at 10am this morning. The reason for the delay in allowing the Blue Flags is to allow the course to dry out a bit more from the early morning rain we had.
6/20/2009
Due to the weather we are currently experiencing, carts will be restricted to cart paths for the remainder of the day. Blue Flagswill not be permitted.
6/19/2009

Good day! In the last 3 days we received almost 3 inches of rain. This has completely saturated the golf course. We were unable to mow any areas of the course on Friday. Today we will be mowing and rolling greens, however greens speeds will be slower than usual based on the rain amounts and soil saturation. Cart rules today will be Cart Path Only. We will be allowing the use of Blue Flags.
6/5/2009
Good day! Due to the excessive rain we will be cart path only today and also restricting the use of blue flags. The golf course is extremely wet today with the continued rain.
